ROB SHEPHERD: The reason Manchester United have not agreed a new deal with Wayne Rooney is that they did not want to commit £70million on keeping the player at Old Trafford. Rooney is looking for an improvement on his current £250,000-a-week salary and would want a five-year contract the stay at the club.
