Vacancy - Engineering Project Manager
Location: Port Harcourt
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver engineering projects, monitor progress and take corrective actions wherever required to achieve set business targets.
- Provide technical leadership and decision-making for the work carried out by the engineering team while ensuring that all staff under his/her supervision are working to international specifications and standards and to any project-specific agenda.
- Ensuring that all staff responsibilities and competencies are matched to job requirements and approve all temporary and permanent appointments for engineering personnel and also provide leadership in the drive for continuous improvement in engineering performance.
- Managing the day to day interfacing between the Projects, engineering and technical interface between the Organisation and client engineering.
- Participating in meetings, project reviews and Project Management Plan reviews.
- Developing a good team spirit within assigned personnel and encourage team working with the project team, contractor and client groups. Ensure that design, safety and technical audits are carried out in accordance with the approved procedures and guidelines.
- To lead improvement of the level of technical HSSE in designs and operations, provide innovative thinking and timely deploy appropriate new technologies so as to achieve and/or exceed international minimum standards.
Job Competencies Required:
- Demonstrated ability to deliver large projects with expertise in design, specification, construction and general project engineering of oil and gas facilities and a sound knowledge of project cost control / planning of upstream / pipeline related Oil and Gas projects.
- Experienced in managing budgets, major engineering projects teams and proven success in previous projects is vital.
- Demonstrated capability with strong leadership and good inter-personal skills to work cross-functionally and contribute to development projects as a leader or major participant.
- Strong conceptual innovative thinking with technical, analytical and commercial business skills.
- Demonstrated skill in contract management and commercial management.
- Registration with the national COREN or with similar international Professional bodies.
Qualification:
B.Sc / B.Eng Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/Chemical Engineering is required with minimum of 5 years vast experience in past jobs
