Purpose Statement
The role will manage all corporate affairs activities of our client in Algeria in support of Company Business Plan and within the objectives of their Corporate affairs Department. The person will also be responsible for leading their new approach to project management, and the project owner for non-manufacturing projects. In conjunction with corporate affairs, he/she will also be working to enhance the company's relationships with outside organisations.

- 1. Proposes and participates in implementation of plans and actions of developments in corporate issues, anticipating their possible negative impact on Company business or undertaking the follow-up activities to eliminate or minimise their adverse effect.
- 2. Represents Corporate affairs in meetings of factory Senior management, as appropriate.
- 3. Prepares and checks public speeches and other materials/documents. Co-ordinates all information required to be sent externally, including to Associations as appropriate.
- 4. Assists in handling media related issues, including drafting responses to enquiries, preparing press-releases, etc.
- 5. Assists in establishing and developing stable relations with city authorities and other local decision making bodies, ensuring Company business interests are duly protected and resolving any issues which may arise while doing business in the region.
- 6. Maintains good relationships with local environmental bodies, other regulatory institutions, neighbours, enabling the factory to fulfil its production plan and maintain an effective logistics/transportation system.
- 7. Assists in preparing and holding business briefings on the most important issues relevant to Company interests.
- 8. Assists in practical implementation of corporate identity and corporate brand policy.
- 9. Assists in ensuring that communication freedom is preserved.
- 10. Organises monitoring and evaluation of mass media information and other sources of interest to Company.
- 11. Establishes, maintains and further develops stable relations with local media, ensuring positive coverage of Operations activities. Keeps local media-list updated.
- 12. Collaborates with PR Manager and Marketing Department in achieving competitive advantage in the most effective way (sponsorships, special projects, promotions, etc.)
- 13. Assists in preparing and editing brochures/leaflets on Operations and activities.
- 14. Organizes charity/sponsorship activities, ensuring that the company is seen by the authorities/decision makers/media and the local community as a good corporate citizen.
- Assists in building up a strong relationship with staff, including the trade union, ensuring all members of the collective are kept informed of the company's activities, goals and objectives, and feel part of the Company. Builds a “cultural link” between local staff and the Company.
- 15. Organises information boards in all departments of the factory and creates a factory museum.
- 16. Assists in conducting surveys within the factory, in preparation and execution of appropriate actions, based on their results.
- 17. Organises the data base.
- 18. Participates in elaboration and, if needed, in implementation of the crisis management procedures for Operations, ensuring contact with local authorities, media and factory staff.
- 19. Manages Operations protocol function and co-ordinates interpretation.

- University degree in economics or other social sciences.
- 2-3 years Business/PR experience.
- Clear understanding of current politics, economics and legislation.
- Sound ability to express his/her ideas in written and oral form in English.
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals from a variety of organisations at all levels.
- Practical knowledge of corporate culture.
- Strong communication and good computer skills.
- Analytical ability.
- Strong planning, project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, team building and leadership qualities, ability to win respect and trust.
- Highly self-motivated, stress resistant, able to perform in an environment the presents unexpected obstacles.
- Ensure that effective communication is achieved between the Algeria factory and the Algeria community.
- Advise and assist on all maintenance projects and innovative suggestions, encouraging proactive thinking and actions.
