Fashola, Army authorities petitioned over alleged threat to life

►A property consultant in Lagos, Mr. Femi Bakare, has urged the Nigerian Army and Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State to checkmate the activities of one Adesagba, who claimed to be an officer at Dodan Barracks and in charge of operations in Lekki area over an alleged threat to life.

►He pleaded with the state governor to use his good offices to investigate the activities of the Army officer and the traditional rulers in Lagos, especially in Ibeju-Lekki axis.

Bakare, who is Chairman of Otofem Limited, told newsmen that the said Army officer led more than
six armed soldiers and about 20 civilians to cause mayhem in Okolomi, Ibeju-Lekki Lagos, during which two of the soldiers and four civilians were apprehended and handed over to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in Elemoro Police Station by the community.

He said most of the traditional rulers were using the Nigerian Army to terrorize innocent people in the area in order to take over their property.

He urged Fashola to look into the activities of the monarchs in the state.

According to Bakare, the two soldiers and four civilians, who have been handed over to the DPO were later transferred to the Area Commander in Ajah, but were yet to be charged to court.

He alleged that the Army officer sent him a text message, adding that he had earlier called him several times and threatened to deal with him and fight the entire community.

Bakare said all matters in respect of the community were in court, advising any aggrieved person to go to court to seek redress so that innocent people in the community would not be harmed for no just cause.
