The Company
Pro-Health - IPSAN, a Pro Health implemented project in Nigeria aims at supporting health facilities in Plateau, Nasarrawa and FCT to deliver comprehensive HIV/AIDS/TB services and community driven programs for ownerships and sustainability in Nigeria.
The project through PEPFAR funding is set to achieve its goals of strengthened health systems and vibrant community systems for improved service delivery and community participation in the states mentioned HIV and AIDS response.
IPSAN is currently seeking to employ suitably qualified candidate to fill the position below:
Job Title: Strategic Information Specialist
Location: Akwanga, Nasarawa
Supervisor: Strategic Information Advisor
Basic Functions, Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Responsible for taking overall responsibilities for all strategic information functions in Nasarawa State.
Lead strengthening through routine and periodic technical guidance the community and facility and states government M&E staff data collection, collation, analysis and reporting and information use for informed decision making systems and processes.
Responsible for monitoring the progress of strategic information activities and provide ongoing mentorship to all strategic information stakeholders in the community and facility and states government on adherence to set standards while also harmonizing the state M&E system.
Lead all capacity building and skill transfer process to the states for program ownership and sustainability for all SI stakeholders.
Lead all routine data validation and periodic Data Quality Assessments (DQA) for both community and facility data processes in assigned states.
Lead data capturing and reporting systems at the community and facility level and generate specific outputs (deliverables) as determined in the respective projected work plan for each month/quarter.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
Relevant Bachelor's Degree and Master's in Epidemiology, Statistics or related field.
4-5 years experience in Strategic Information / Monitoring and Evaluation in reproductive health and HIV/AIDS programs in developing countries.
Familiarity with USG MER indicators, CDC/USAID programs including monthly reporting cycles and templates is preferred.
Other Experience
Excellent administrative skills, organisational ability and information ordering.
Ability to use logic and critical reasoning to identify the strengths and weakness of alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems.
Ability to identify complex problem and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Demonstrated ability to independently complete assigned tasks.
Relevant computer software skills.
Verbal written and organisational skills.
Flexibility and ability to handle changing priorities.
Ability to train others.
A good team player and ability to travel in Nigeria minimum of 25% of work time
Preferred Skills:
SPSS, Epi, EMR software experience.
Experience in Health care system development.
Demonstrated experience and interest in HIV and AIDS work and familiarity with GON reporting tools.
