Former Vice President and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) Atiku Abubakar told he admires the troops of the Nigerian military, whose efforts led to rescuing 293 girls and women in Sambisa forest from the hands of the Boko Haram insurgents. However, he told they mustn’t stop at that point, because their final goal is to eliminate Boko Haram and to bring back all the abducted Nigerians including Chibok girls.
“While we rejoice in the rescue of the women and girls yesterday, we urge that our military continues steadfastly in the operations until all abducted Nigerians have been rescued and territories recaptured,” told Atiku Abubakar in his statement.
The former Vice President also called unacceptable the fact that hundreds of women, boys and girls have been abducted over last months by the Boko Haram militants.
Nigerian troops rescued 200 girls and 93 women on Tuesday in the Sambisa Forest in the northeastern part of the country. However, girls rescued from Boko Haram terror camps in Sambisa Forest on Tuesday are“not the Chibok girls,” a Nigerian army spokesman Sani Usman told press.
