Following the victory secured by some All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates in the just concluded general elections, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has tasked the governors-elect on the platform of the party.
Speaking at press conference on Monday in Yola, Adamwa State capital, Atiku, who lost the Presidential ticket at the party’s primary to General Muhammadu Buhari, called on the elected governors to emulate the exemplary and selfless service the President-elect was ready to provide at the national level for the betterment of the country
He said the election of Senator Jibrilla Bindow has put rewarded ethnic and religious politics in the state, and described the victory of the APC in the state as historic.
The former vice president said the victory was the first in six years that he would be part of the winning team in the state and at the federal level.
Atiku, however, lamented that the state has not been so divided on ethnic and religious lines than now, especially because of the insurgent activities and the political campaigns of some politicians that was wrapped around religion and ethnicity.
