Four persons were killed, while several others sustained serious injuries following a bomb attack on a community radio station, TAO FM in Okene, Kogi State, yesterday night.
A source in the town said that the bomb exploded at the radio station, operating on 101.5 frequency, at about 8pm.
Unconfirmed reports said that those killed were mainly security personnel, who might have confronted the assailants as they were trying to deliver their deadly goods.
The reason for bombing the radio station located at the centre of Okene town, which is the headquarters of Kogi Central Senatorial District, was not known as no group had claimed responsibility for the attack.
Confirming the incident, state Police Public Relations Officer, Shola Collins, said that police detectives had already been mobilized to the scene of the incident.
Collins said the attack affected part of the radio station building, adding that four persons had already been confirmed dead, while many were still in various hospitals in the area.
According to Collins, the police would do anything humanly possible to unravel those behind the act and bring them to book.
