Some unknown gunmen on Tuesday, stormed the residence of one of the chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Tribune reports that the suspected assassins attempted to force their way into the residence of Dr. Davies Ikanya, located along Herbert Macaulay Street, Amadi Flat, Old GRA, Port Harcourt.
It was gathered that the assailants were repelled after a serious gun fight between them and Ikanya’s security operatives.
Ikanya, who is the state Chairman of the APC, however, narrowly escaped being assassinated.
