SHOCKING News: Jonathan, Sambo, Obanikoro, Others Will Not Leave Nigeria On May 29

According Punch Newspapers, President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice-President Namadi Sambo and several ministers have concluded plans to travel abroad shortly after the May 29 inauguration of a Buhari’s government.

It was reported that Jonathan said he would travel out of the country for a much needed rest after the May 29 inauguration, while Sambo is planning to travel to London on May 31, two days after the inauguration of Muhammadu Buhari.

Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is believed to have planned a return to the US after the inauguration.

Her colleague in the Petroleum Resources Ministry, Diezani Allison-Madueke, has already travelled out of the country on Friday, May 22.

She is however, expected to return to the country to attend the last Federal Executive Council meeting of President Jonathan’s administration, and leave immediately after the FEC meeting.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Musiliu Obanikoro, on his part, revealed that he would go abroad for a two-week vacation after May 29.

Obanikoro revealed to Punch that he might go to Ghana, South Africa or the United States to take “a deserved rest.”

He was quoted to have said: “I think it is a wise thing to take a rest after all said and done. I will start with a six-week executive course in Harvard University and I will follow this up in August by starting a degree course in History at the same prestigious institution.”
