Leadership by Example League International (LELI) has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to suspend Bola Tinubu, ex-governor of Lagos state, over not recognizing Senate President Bukola Saraki.
It should be noted that Saraki became the speaker against all odds on June 9, defeating Senator Ahmed Lawan, the official candidate of the party.
The group in a statement by its chancellor Batos Nwadike, said it was hopeful that with the emergency of Saraki as Senate President and Senator Ike Ekweremadu as deputy Senate President, the upper legislative house was composed to give operative leadership to Nigerians through seamless legislations.
LELI called on angry senators to retract their swords and give the leadership of Senate the wanted support.
It said: “The statement emanating from Tinubu and Gemade to the effect that they do not recognise the avowed election held transparently in the hallowed hall of the red chamber on Tuesday is embarrassing.”

It expressed concern over what it called ‘April fool in June’ supposedly given to the senators of APC removal by Tinubu that “President Muhammadu Buhari was coming to address the Senate when there was a due letter of proclamation of the National Assembly.”
The group added the National Assembly was for Nigeria and not Lagos State House of Assembly.
It also greeted Yakubu Dogara, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Deputy Speaker, Yusuf Larson.
“Nigerians should support a strengthened and virile National Assembly,” the statement read.
It worth mentioning that ruling party said that the elections that took place on June 9, at the Red and Green chambers were “unacceptable”.
