Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday showed that he would not dance to the tune of world powers in running his administration, reports Premium Times.
Buhari disappointed the United States and the United Kingdom by not aligning with them during voting on a Security Council resolution that would have dubbed the 1995 massacre at Srebrenica during the Bosnian war, a crime of genocide
Buhari ordered the Nigerian representative in the United Nations to abstained from voting and not queue behind the US and the UK.

Nigeria was joined by fellow African country, Angola, as well as China and Venezuela, to abstain from voting.
It is, however, not clear if President Barack Obama and the British Prime Minister, David Cameron reached out to President Buhari for support on the vote.
Nigeria’s decision to abstain from voting may be an indication of the foreign policy direction of President Buhari.
