NASS CRISIS: Resign now, else….Southeast tells Ekweremadu

The embattled deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has been asked to vacate his seat. A southeast group, the African League Organisation (ALO) made this call immediately after the Peoples Democratic Party BoT supported the emergence of Ike as the deputy Senate President for the 8th National Assembly.

The group said, what is good for Ekweremadu is to step down from the seat of deputy Senate President, so that any other senator from the zone can replace him. It added that Mr Ike has been allegedly passive in the past eight years that he has been in the Senate. Ekweremadu has not use his position as the Deputy Senate President for development of the zone.

They added that, despite his position for the past 8 years, Igbo youths remained unemployed, poverty had eaten deep into the land. So, what is good for Ike and for the betterment of Igbo land is for him to step aside his position and one of the remaining senators from the zone should immediately replace him, so the the dream of the zone can come through.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party BoT has supported Ekweremadu emergency as the deputy Senate President, according to the board, his emergence is the best thing to have ever happened to democracy and it is a great advantage to their party.
