Explosions and shooting were heard in Borno state on Tuesday, August 11. This time in Kayamula village of the Jere local government area, near capital Maiduguri.
According to Sahara reporters, the military was involved in gun battle with Boko Haram insurgents.
One of the Giwa Barracks residents disclosed that the troops ordered locals to remain inside their houses, but residents are contemplating on fleeing with their families.
One Mustapha Yusuk lamented that: “Our children are crying because of the loud explosions near our area, it is late already I am just confused. ”
About two month ago, there was a similar incident around Kayamula when the terrorists reportedly tried to advance to Maiduguri. At least 27 civilians and 35 insurgents were said to have been killed in that attack.
Meanwhile, a massive explosion yesterday rocked Sabon Gari market. More than 6o people were feared killed and 43 injured.
