Obasanjo meets Buhari, intercedes on behalf of Turai Yar’Adua
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo paid a night visit to President Muhammadu Buhari and reports claim he did so to intercede on behalf of the wife of late Umaru Yar’Adua, a former president of Nigeria.
Obasanjo who visited Buhari on Wednesday reportedly discussed other matters of national interest but speculation is rife that the timing of his visit was connected with the earlier visit by Turai to Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.
Turai was said to have made complaints that her family was having some problems with the “Buhari people”. Like the late Yar’Adua, Buhari is also from Katsina.
Like Buhari, Obasanjo has ruled the most populous black nation in the world as a military ruler and civilian president. Political analysts say Obasanjo was also very instrumental to Buhari’s victory at the polls.
