Reports reaching us indicate that Col. Sam Inokoba, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa state is dead.
This comes just two weeks after the ex-PDP chairman defected to the All Progressives Congress.
Before his death, Inokoba was an APC governorship aspirant in Bayelsa state and had obtained his nomination form to contest the governorship primaries of the APC.
In a report on The Nation, reactions have trailed the ex-PDP chairman’s death as some claimed he died of heart attack while others attributed his death to food poison.
It was gathered that Inokoba died in Lagos this morning, September 2 and his remains has been deposited at the morgue of the Military Cantonment Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos.
There was an earlier scare as to the condition of Inokoba’s health after the ex-PDP chairman allegedly slumped during a town hall meeting in Nembe, Bayelsa state on August 22.
Inokoba, 68, was a PDP chieftain for over three years before he dumped the party for the APC.
