A deadly explosion on Friday afternoon ripped through a procession of Shi’ite adherents on their way to Zaria.
A deadly explosion on Friday afternoon ripped through a procession of Shi’ite adherents on their way to Zaria.
Witnesses said they saw 10 people affected by the explosion as they were evacuated from the scene.
At least 27 others were injured.
The incident occurred at Dakasoye village near Kura town, which is some 35km away from Kano.
The Shiite followers were processing to Zaria when they were attacked by a suicide bomber who disguised among those processing.
The group evacuated the victims and continued with the procession.
Police Commissioner Muhammad Katsina confirmed the attack but he could not immediately give actual figure of those killed.
