Bayelsans Protest Election Results In Collation Centre
A noisy protest is currently taking place just outside the collation centre here in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.
Chat212-FM’s correspondent on the ground reports that the protesters are calling for the cancellation of the election held in Southern Ijaw which continued late into the night on Sunday, December 6, 2015.
The protest is taking place despite a ban on protests in Bayelsa by the state police command.
A heavy presence of military officers is outside the collation centre as the protesters have kept chanting: “we need peace”, “one man one vote, one woman one vote.”
