IBB Has Humble, Magnanimous Spirit, Says Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has described the former military President, Ibrahim Babangida, as someone endowed with the virtues of humility and of forgiveness.

In a congratulatory message issued by Atiku’s media office on Tuesday, he said that at 75, former military President Ibrahim Babangida deserves accolades for his contributions to the development of the country in many spheres.

The former Vice President said that one of the greatest legacies of IBB was giving the country a manageable number of political parties by reducing them to two and thereby reducing waste of resources through financial support from the country’s electoral commission.

He said that Babangida’s perceived shortcomings should not be allowed to overshadow his bigger and greater records of achievements, including the rapid development of Abuja as Nigeria’s new Federal Capital City following its conception by late Head of State, General Murtala Mohammed.

“The Turaki Adamawa praises Babangida’s virtues of forgiveness, adding that the magnanimous spirit of the former President is one of the magnetic and endearing features of his character.
“It is impossible to encounter IBB without being moved by his humility towards people, regardless of their social stations in life,” his aides said.
