Sanusi Blast - Ganduje on a Hot seat after Creation of new Emirates
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, and former governor of Kano State, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has berated Governor Abdullahi Ganduje
over the recent creation of new four emirates by his administration in the state. According to the former governor. The number one citizen has lost focus on the right things to do.
Kwankwaso while speaking about the creation of the new emirate on a radio programme disclosed that the splitting was done to descreate the heritage of the Kano Emirate, drastically reduce the influence of the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi ll, and created division in the ancient state. The ancient city of Kano is now made up of five first class emirates Rano, Gaya, Karaye and Bichi. And all Emirs now wields equal power as the Emir Sanusi.
“I look with dismay at the rate at which priorities are being misplaced.
“I saw some brand new cars purchased for the said new emirates when some of our schools have been left in shambles.
“I am aware that in the last three years, some secondary schools in Kano were razed by fire and these schools are still there in dire need of the authority’s attention.
“But the government is busy buying expensive cars and spending heavily on what the people of Kano State do not want.
“This people meant no good for Kano people. How could you tamper with their history and their identity without their consent?
“I am happy that the PDP gubernatorial candidate has indicated that as soon as justice is done by the court, he will revert to status quo.”
Kwankwaso urged his loyalists to remain calm and law-abiding while they await the judgment of the Kano State gubernatorial election petition tribunal where the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) filed a petition against the governor who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the election.
Meanwhile the governor while speaking at a ceremony organized for the four newly appointed Emirs to express appreciation to the governor, held at Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium insists that “These four Emirate Councils existed for many centuries ago. We deemed it wise to revive them in order to fast-track our development agenda.
“I charge these emirs to develop interest in the education development , agriculture and security. We want to see you going house to house to ensure every child go to school. “We want to see you participating in the fight against insecurity because you are familiar with strangers that enter your town. You will know new faces that enter your towns and know how to tackle the security in your areas,”
This are the new Emirs Ibrahim Abubakar, the Emir of Karaye, Aminu Ado-Bayero, Emir of Bichi, Ibrahim Abdulkadir, Emir of Gaya and Tafida Ila.
