INEC Finally open Server.... for Atiku inspect

Atiku To Inspect INEC Server, Tribunal Explains

According reports, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the February 2019 presidential election, has said that the Presidential Election Tribunal
did not reject his request and that of his party to inspect the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Presidential candidate had in a statement by Paul Ibe, his meida aide which was entitled, “He who laughs last, laughs best,” released on Tuesday, has said that the tribunal had instead ruled that the proceedings of the case was still at its preliminary stages, adding that the issue of inspecting the server of the electoral umpire was not relevant at the preliminary stage.

He went on to explain that the tribunal held that the issue of the INEC server was a matter to be adjudicated upon when the main case is being heard.

Atiku gave this response to a statement by the spokesman to the President, Garba Shehu, who had rejoiced over the ruling of the tribunal on the request made by Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to inspect the INEC server.

He said, “The celebration by the administration of General Buhari that their electoral heist has been covered is premature. Their giddiness has even blinded them to the eye witness testimony given to multiple media in interviews by the staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission that there is indeed a server and that they actually submitted results and accreditation through it.

“In their rush to claim a Pyrrhic victory, the General Buhari administration missed out the fact that the 2019 budget has multiple line items for procurement, maintenance and service of the server they claim does not exist.”
