Kidnappers Snatch Malaysia Returnee in Imo

Dare devil kidnappers, yesterday, stormed Ubokwu, Obinze, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State and whisked away Mr. Iheanyichukwu Chima, to an unknown destination.

Although information on the abduction was sketchy at press time, it was gathered that the armed hoodlums struck between 1 and 2a.m.,  Sunday.

Husband denies beating wife for greeting pastor

►A man, Abimbola Olorode, and his wife, Comfort, have differed on who inflicted injuries on the wife.
►While the wife had accused Abimbola of assaulting her in public, the husband said Comfort injured herself with her long nails.


But Comfort, who told  Chat212 that her husband was “extremely possessive”, claimed that he assaulted her for stopping by in front of their church to greet the pastor.

Four in police net for stealing phones worth N1.5m

The police have arrested four suspected robbers at a Lagos market who claimed they did not steal from the traders, but only came to collect their dues.

Chat212 learnt that the suspects- Onyenge Osanie, Azuka Eboh, Ezelonwu Michael and Afolabi Shakiru- were nabbed by the police while they were looting some shops and robbing traders at the Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos.

Pastor on the run over death of two brothers during spiritual bath

The Police in Lagos have arrested a member of New Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ajah area of the state over the alleged death of two men during a spiritual bath, weekend.

The deceased identified as Abiodun and Ayinde Oniru, of same parents and one of their step-brothers were alleged to have been taken to the church by their father and step-mother last Thursday for spiritual cleansing.

Spiritualist arraigned over alleged N3.5m fraud

►The Police in Lagos on Friday docked a 37-year-old Yinka Daudu, who claimed to be a spiritualist, for allegedly stealing N3.5 million belonging to one Monday Jatau.

►The accused was charged before a Shomolu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on a three-count charge for stealing N3.5 million from Jatau, under the pretext that he will solve his spiritual problem.


Mr Thomas Muhammed, the prosecutor, an Inspector of Police, told the court that the accused conspired with others now at large to steal the money, without offering solution to the complainant’s problem.

2 sentenced to death for stealing fowls

Justice Jide Falola of an Osun State High Court sitting in Okuku has sentenced two robbers to death for stealing fowls.

The convicts, Olowookere Segun and Morakinyo Sunday, were found guilty of forcefully breaking into the house of one Mr. Balogun Tope, a police officer attached to Divisional Police headquarters, Okuku, in April 2010 and carting away some of his belongings.

Man Narrates How He Bought A Human Head For N12,500

A human parts merchant, identified as Olorunto Dipe, aged 35, currently in the custody of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Lagos State Police Command, has explained how he became a dealer in human parts.

►He said: “I bought a human head for N12,500 from Cotonou, Benin Republic, and intended to sell it to one man called Asiwaju, whom I knew from Oba Ishegun from Atan in Ogun State, for N20,000 before I was arrested.”

Wife, children accused of hacking husband to death

►A middle-aged woman, Comfort Tifase and her children, Olufumbi and Oluropo, are currently being interrogated by officers of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, over the circumstances surrounding the death of her husband, Moses, in Mile 2 area of the state.

Chat212 gathered that the suspects had allegedly hacked Moses, who is based in Kano State, to death with a pair of scissors during a fight at their Block 285, flat 6, residence, Jakande Estate Mile 2.

Husband and wife allegedly tortured by policeman in Lagos

A 29-year-old photographer, Ejeh Smith, and his wife, Grace, 26, are in pains and receiving treatment at a Lagos hospital after a police officer, identified as Dada Ogunsanya, allegedly tortured them with his rifle.

►Ogunsanya is attached to the Ikoyi Police Division.
►The incident happened at the Lekki Roundabout on Wednesday, last week, while the couple was in a taxi en route to their home at Parkview Estate.

Fraudsters posing as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recruitment officers are now collecting money from unsuspecting individuals in Zamfara with the promise to give them employment.

►Investigations by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in the state revealed that many unemployed youths had already fallen victims to the fraudsters.

Deputy Comptroller Of Prison comptroller jailed 7-yrs over N1.4m fraud

A High Court sitting in Okene yesterday on Friday sentenced a Deputy Comptroller of Prisons, Joseph Idachaba to seven years in prison for fraudulently enriching himself with over N1.4 million belonging to Nigerian Prisons Service, NPS.

Justice Josiah Majebi of Okene High Court handed down the sentence in the case of three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, falsehood and fraud in a case Idachaba was arraigned along with one other staff of the Prisons Service, Ruth Onoja in February, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

13-Year Old Allegedly Flees Home With Lover

The police in Lagos are battling to find a 13-year-old girl, Chikwuo Ezennia, who reportedly fled her house with a yet-to-be-identified man, suspected to be her lover.

Chat212 learnt that Ezennia, who is in Basic 4, had come to Lagos from Nneni village in the Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State to spend her holiday with her relatives.

NDLEA Arrests Music Producer With Illegal Drugs Worth N374m

Three South Africa-based Nigerians, among them a mother of seven, have been arrested by operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency
Three South Africa-based Nigerians, among them a mother of seven, have been arrested by operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, with drugs suspected to be methamphetamine, with an estimated street value at N374 million.

Also arrested was a 44-year-old Asaba-based music producer, whose alleged attempt to smuggle 4.95kg of substance suspected to be cocaine into the country was foiled.

Daughter of governor's aide, bizman rescued from kidnappers

Lagos State Police Command has rescued the daughter of Special Adviser to Kwara State Governor on Political Matters, Miss Sa-adat Bibire, winner of a beauty pageant and Alhaji Hammed Fashola, an oil and gas dealer, from kidnappers’ dens in Delta and Lagos states, respectuvely.

Parading the suspects yesterday, Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, said a massive manhunt was launched to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers.
