THE Senate yesterday grilled the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosun and The Director of Department of State Service, Mr. Ekpenyong Ita for eight hours over the security situation in the North.

The senate also disclosed that the Nigeria military was mounting pressure on them for the extension of emergency rule in the three North Eastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe for them to be able to conduct operations in a manner that will bring insurgency to a quick resolution.

CBN devalues Naira by N13, fixes N168 to dollar

The Central Bank of Nigeria, yesterday, devalued the national currency, the Naira, as it moved the midpoint of the official window of the foreign exchange market from N155 to N168 to the one US Dollar. This means that the Naira will exchange between N168 and N174 to the dollar at the foreign exchange market.
