NASS Crisis May Influence PMB Change Agenda - Professor

Pat Utomi, a professor of political economy, has cautioned that the current crisis in the National Assembly may influence plans by President Muhammadu Buhari to change Nigeria.

Daily Post reports that Utomi further cautioned the governing party not to let “petty politics” spoil its Change Agenda.

The political expert spoke at a programme, ‘The Banquet of Stars Against Cancer’. The event was put together to celebrate the birthday of Akinwumi Ambode, the Lagos state governor.

Tinubu Should Accept Saraki As Senate President

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been urged by a pressure group, the Nigeria Needs Positive Change Group (NNPCG), to publicly recognise the emergence of Bukola Saraki as the Senate president.
In a statement by the group’s national coordinator, Alhaji Mas’ud Adebimpe, made available to This Day, they asked Tinubu to follow in the steps of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the national chairman of the party, who has recognized Saraki as the Senate president.

Why states can’t pay workers’ salaries

Huge expenditures on capital projects and sundry overhead have been identified as part of the reasons many state governments in Nigeria are unable to pay their workers’ salaries for many months now, Chat212 investigations have revealed.
About 18 state governments in the country currently owe their workers salaries for periods ranging from two to 11 months as at the end of May, 2015.
