At the resumed sitting in Abuja, the lawmakers, through their lawyer Mr Magaji Mahmood, filed a fresh motion, asking the trial judge to hands-off the matter and await the outcome of a referral application they had entered before an Appeal Court in Abuja.
The High Court had on February 18, concluded hearing on the suit and adjourned to deliver its verdict,
The PDP and the Senate President, David Mark, however, challenged the competence of the application, urging the court to discountenance it and proceed with the judgment.
Counsel to PDP, Mr Joe-Kyari Gadzama, described the application as an abuse of court process, saying it was a deliberate ploy by the lawmakers to further extend their stay in office.
The APC lawmakers had in their suit, asked the court to determine whether, considering the circumstances in the national and various state chapters of the PDP, a faction or division actually existed within the party.
