APC Governorship Candidate to Face PDP in Governorship election to be held in Ado Ekiti
The Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has emerged the winner of the All Progressives Congress, APC, primary election held in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Fayemi emerged the party candidate in the June 21 governorship election after he pulled a total vote of 192,767.
Speaking during the collation of result from all the 16 LG Areas of the state, the national officers of the party, led by the it’s Organizing Secretary and Chairman of the 6-man panel, Senator Osita Izunaso, said that the conduct of the primaries was in line with article 20 sub section 3 of the APC Constitution which stated that the party has the latitude to organize primaries either direct or indirect.
A former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose, in March had been declared winner of the PDP governorship primaries in the state to contest the June 21 governorship election.
