The Job:
The appointee will be required to initiate, develop, maintain and implement effective Systems and procedures for training shipping and shipboard personnel and for auditing NLNG Shipping and Marine assets / companies for continuous improvement.
The Duties:
The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
►Develop, maintain and implement protocol for internal audit of Shipping Division and BGT vessels.
►Develop, plan and Implement NLNG Shipping audit plans, follow up progress and provide initiatives to management on audit recommendations
►Conduct periodic Ship Management Audit Review (SMAR) of BGT vessels by sailing onboard the vessel for life assessment of the process onboard
►Carry out onboard assessment/appraisal of personnel including mandatory STCW readiness assessment, when so required, and report as instructed
►Conduct Fleet training onboard BGT vessels for crew and officers on the vessels
►Monitor technology developments in navigational, engineering and safety standards and provide analysis and trend to SD Management and Fleet Managers
►Prepare and implement a documented process for onboard training of officers and crew in Navigation, Engineering and safety matters on BGT Fleet reporting the outcome to the Crew and Fleet Manager
The Person:
The right candidate should:
►Possess a Class 1 (Deck or Engine officer) certificate of competency
►Have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in shipboard operations of which 2 years actual sea service must have been served in a senior position.
►Not be more than 40 years old as at 31st December, 2014.
