Police in Enugu, yesterday, confirmed the death of two children at a stream located at New Government Reserved Area axis of Trans Ekulu layout in Enugu.
A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, said the two children, Emeka Nwafor, 7, and Nmesoma Nwafor, 4, were found dead in the stream on January 13.
It said the remains of the children had been deposited at a hospital for autopsy, as investigation was continuing.
In another development, the statement said that the Ninth Mile Police Division was also investigating the shooting of a hunter, Benjamin Igu of Umuokpala Egede area of Udi Local Government Area of the state.
It said that Igu, alongside the suspect and other hunters, had gone for hunting expedition when he was shot.
According to the police, the suspect, a 70-year-old man, claimed that he shot into the bush when he noticed movement thin-king it was a wild animal.
The statement said the victim was responding to treatment.
