The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Ali Olanusi has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and declared his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Olanusi, an indigene of Supare in Akoko South West local government area of the State became the Deputy governor of the State in 2009 under the platform of Labour Party before he defected alongside the state governor, Olusegun Mimiko to the PDP in October, 2014.
The deputy reportedly made the announcement on Thursday morning.
According to the Daily Post Olusegun Mimiko and his Deputy have been at loggerheads ever since, resulting to media reports that the governor was making some moves to impeach him.
PM News meanwhile reports that a source close to the Ondo State Government House said that Olanusi who is yet to formally declare his switch has not stated his reasons for defection.
As the APC welcome Alhaji Ali, the PDP will still be enjoying the defection of an opposition deputy governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru of Rivers state who defected from the APC to be PDP last week.
