President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, sympathized with President Goodluck Jonathan over the demise of his Special Adviser on Strategy and Documentation, Mr Oronto Douglas.
This was contained in a statement made available to the media in Abuja by the Director, Media and Publicity, APC Presidential Campaign, Malam Garba Shehu.
The statement reads: “I received the news of the death of your long-standing friend and key aide, Oronto Douglas, with sadness.
“I appreciate how close he had worked with you and considered him a young and dynamic individual who still had a lot to offer our country as we build on our democracy.
“I urge you, Mr President, to take heart and to convey my condolences to his immediate family as we pray for the repose of his humble soul.”
According to a close family source, Mr. Douglas died from cancer-related complications at 4:58am on Thursday at the State House clinic, Abuja.
