A Senator representing Borno State, Ahmed Zanna, is dead.
Mr. Zanna died Saturday in Abuja. He was 59 years old.
The spokesperson for the Senate, Enyinanya Abaribe, confirmed Mr. Zanna’s death. He said prayers were ongoing at the National Mosque for the late lawmaker.
Mr. Zannah, who represents Borno North Senatorial District, was reelected during the April 11 general elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Sources close to the family said the late lawmaker, who had been battling with undisclosed illness that caused him partial paralysis, had returned to Abuja on Friday after a medical trip to the United States of America.
His demise has caused grief in Maiduguri especially around his Damboa Road home which he vacated for IDPs kins from Bama his home town.
