APC Zoning Formula: Read What Buhari Has Said Finally

The president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has reassured his desire to work with any chief of the National Assembly and Senate that will emerge.

Buhari said he will be disregarding of what part of the country he or she comes from.

The president-elect revealed this via statement issued on May 27, Wednesday.

He said that this has become essential in view of the continued name-dropping in some circles linking his name to some aspirants.

In the earlier comment two weeks ago the president-elect said: “I am prepared to work with any leaders that the House or Senate selects. It doesn’t matter who the person is or where he or she is from.”

He also promised not to interfere into the progress.

In his today’s comment former military ruler stated that the media and the public should start to get used to no more “business as usual”.

Buhari said: “Nigeria has indeed entered a new dispensation. My administration does not intend to repeat the same mistakes made by previous governments.”

There has been controversy over the selection of new chieftains of the Senate and House of Representatives, as the All Progressives Congress which has the majority seats has been unsuccessful so far to zone the offices to different parts of Nigeria.

Insiders of the party said the pause is seemingly because Buhari has denied to accept any formula for the election.

Chieftains of the APC say the APC will not jettison zoning, but added that the party will consider merit first.

However, the president-elect has claimed he will not back any candidate.
