Meet Obasanjo’s Four Loyalist That Will Have Positive Influence On Buhari’s Governmen

1. Nasir El-Rufai
Nasir El Rufai served as Minister of Abuja Federal Capital Territory from 16 July 2003 to 29 May 2007 during the Obasanjo’s government.


During the last days of the Obasanjo administration, the former EFCC Chairman described El-Rufai as the “de facto No. 2 official”, classifying him with the role of a VP. It is considered that Obasanjo’s trust and confidence in El-Rufai angered a vast number of the political elite within the country.

El-Rufai won the April 11 Kaduna gubernatorial poll by a landslide victory, scored a total of 1,117,635 votes.

2. Atiku Abubakar
Atiku served as the elected Vice-President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007, under the platform of the PDP with President Olusegun Obasanjo.

He dumped the ruling party for the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) with a vow to assist his new party win polls in 2015 across the country.

General Buhari beat polled 3,430 of 7,214 votes cast while Atiku Abubakar polled 954 during the party primaries. But Buhari paid a secret visit to former VP immediately after the winning his presidential bid. He seeks support for coming polls.


3. Chukwuma Charles Soludo
There were reports that the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Professor Charles Soludo, may have been proposed as the minister of finance in the Buhari administration by the ex-president Obasanjo.

He was a member of the economic team for the Obasanjo administration before became the governor of the CBN.

4. Oby Ezekwesili
Obiageli Ezekwesili, who also is co-founder of BringBackOurGirls group, is predicted with returning to the government as minister of education.

Alongside with the president-elect, Ezekwesili made the list of the 100 most influential people.
