BREAKING News!! Nasarawa, Taraba Governors Appoint Media Aides

Governors Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa and Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba state have named their chief press secretary and special adviser on media and publicity respectively.

Al-Makura of Nasarawa, according to the Punch, on Friday appointed Alhaji Tukur Ahmed, as his Chief Press Secretary.

The governor made the appointment known a statement signed in Lafia by the Secretary to the State Government, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed.

The appointee was born on October 27, 1974 in Tukur and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from Benue State University, Makurdi.

Until Ahmed’s appointment, he was the Nasarawa state correspondent of the Blue Print newspapers and formerly worked Leadership Newspaper as the Nasarawa State Correspondent also.

Meanwhile, Vangurad reports that Governor Dickson Ishaku of Taraba has retained the senior special assistant on media and publicity and chief press secretary to the former governor of the state in their positions.

The appointments were also made in a press release sign by Secretary to the state government, Chief Gibon Kataps.

The governor approved the appointment of Alhaji Hassan Mijinyawa as chief press secretary and Sylvanus Giwa as senior special assistant on media and publicity.

The duo served as media aides to the former governor of Taraba state Danbaba Suntai who is suffering from an illness.

Gibon Kataps however said he will not be retained as the governor will appoint a SSG at which point he will resign.

Meanwhile, Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has named his political officers. He appointed Dr. Eme Okoro as the Secretary to the Government while Mr. Chijioke Nwakodo and Chief John Nwangborogwu were named Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff respectively.

He also named Mr. Ojo Maduekwe, a former This Day editor as his special assistant on media and publicity.
