Confusion Brews In PDP....
There is confusion currently brewing in the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in its position on the appointment of the Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Amina Zakari.
The PDP, through Olisa Metuh, had claimed that the call for her removal was a position taken by the party at the 403 meeting of members of the National Working Committee, however, another national officer of the party out-rightly diagreed.
The National Publicity Secretary, Metuh had on behalf of the party stated that the INEC chairperson has a strong relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari and a North-West governor of the All Progressive Congress.
Zakari’s proficiency in office was not in question, but that the issue was of “nepotism” which calls into question the independence of the electoral body under her” Metuh said.
However, the deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Jalo, failed to agree with him, saying he had asked Metuh to produce the minutes of the meeting where the decision was taken
