The name of the new head of the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has been finally made public.
It was provided yesterday that the chief of army staff, Major General Tukur Buratai, was was characterized as a major shake-up in the Nigerian army.
The military official named new general officers commanding the divisons, principal staff officer to head the affairs of military headquarters, he also nominated new corps commanders, special task forces commanders, among others.
The personality of the MNJTF is, however, of special interest for people, as the body is set to lead the fight against Boko Haram insurgency.
According to the latest reports, Major General Iliya Abbah has been made the MNJTF boss. Before having occupied this post, Abbah was the head of operations in the Niger Delta.
Abbah takes over from Buratai who has since been appointed chief of army staff.

“My mission statement is to build a professional and responsive army because I have realised that although we have a professional army, the aspect of responsiveness is missing.”
