Dikwa is a borders town, mainly comprising of farmers. It is close to Maidugri, the capital city of Borno state.
Dikwa town was recently recaptured by the Nigerian Army, and during the routine mop-up exercise, a bomb factory was discovered and dismantled.
The Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col. Sani Usman said “They also discovered that the terrorists have converted the abandoned Chemistry laboratory of Dikwa College of Education into an Improvised Explosive Devices making factory.”
“The gallant troops are in a very high spirit and more determined to further pursue the fleeing Boko Haram terrorists to all known enclaves and sanctuaries in the Sambisa and Gulumba Forests,” Usman said.
Adding that “Some of the equipment recovered from the laboratory include a welding machine and mine detectors.”
The mop-up was carried out by a team of soldiers from the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army.
