Bayelsa State Govt. To Probe Ex-Commissioner

For vowing to work against the reelection of her former boss, Governor Seriake Dickson, the state government has vowed to probe the former Commissioner for Transport in the state, Mrs. Marie Ebikake.

According to Punch newspaper, the state’s deputy governor, Rear Admiral John Jonah (retd.), stated this at a rally in Peace Park, Yenagoa, organized by a non-governmental organization, Dickson Support Movement, to welcome the non-indigenes forum to DSM.

“This government tried to build a good transport system. We bought buses, taxis and gave to our people.

“The person, who almost messed up the state transportation scheme is the one talking on television, criticising the Governor. The time is not ripe yet, we shall open the books and reveal her activities.”

Jonah commended non-indigenes living and doing business in the state for their peaceful conduct and disposition.

He noted that Dickson had appointed more non-indigenes into his government than previous governments and would expect them to reciprocate the gesture by supporting his second term bid.

Meanwhile, Dickson has said despite the recent defection by some leaders of the Bayelsa Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress, he would win in the fort coming December 5 gubernatorial election.
