All members of the House of Representatives including the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara last night met to discuss the lawmakers’ delayed pay.
According to report on Premium Times, house members have not been paid their July salaries. The meeting which reportedly began around 9.pm at Room 028, new building wing of the House, had all members in attendance.
“We have not been paid. But everybody wants to collect money. I still call my account officer today if money has dropped, she said no,” a lawmaker told the newspaper.
According to the report, the delayed pay has generated complaints amongst members.
Meanwhile, Yakubu Dogara has assured the South-East region that they will be adequately compensated in the leadership structure in the lower house.
