President Muhammadu Buhari felicitated with chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress as he celebrated his 76th birthday on Wednesday, August 13.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant to the president who said Buhari joined members of the APC national chairman’s family, friends and political associates in celebrating with Oyegun, Nigerian Tribune reports.
Shehu said that the president commended “the exemplary patriotism, selflessness and dedication to the progress and well-being of Nigeria, which Chief Oyegun has demonstrated throughout his long and successful career as a top civil servant and political leader.”
He also saluted Chief Oyegun’s “integrity, wisdom, hard work and visionary leadership which, contributed in no small measure, to the successful formation of the APC and the party’s historic victory in the last general elections.”
The President Buhari prayed that God would grant Oyegun good health and many more years of worthy contributions to national development.
Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president of Nigeria has commended John Oyegun for leading the party to victory in the 2015 elections.
