The South-African police have reported the murder of Chumani Nqakula, the 23-year-old son of the defence and military veterans minister, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula.
He was allegedly killed by a friend on Saturday, October 31, at Bezuidenhout Valley, Johannesburg.
The ministry of defence and military veterans sent its heartfelt condolences to minister Mapisa-Nqakula and her family.
The department in a statement issued on Monday, November 2, asked God to give them (Nqakula’s family) the comfort and peace they require during the current difficult time.

Chumani, who was stabbed to death by a friend, was the second of four children of the minister and ex-cabinet minister Charles Nqakula.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested.
Police spokesperson, Lungelo Dlamini said: “Police are investigating a murder case after a young man was stabbed yesterday; he was stabbed in the upper body. The suspect was arrested immediately. At this stage we don’t know what is the motive for the crime. He will be appearing in the Johannesburg magistrate court on charges of murder.”
