Missing PVCs: Police Arrests 6 INEC Staff
The Abia State Police Command has arrested 6 staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abia State after the discovery of so many permanent voters’ card, (PVC), in the house of a criminal suspect in Isiala Ngwa South local government in the state.
A reliable source from INEC state office in Umuahia confirmed the arrest and told Vanguard that they were at the Police Criminal Investigation Department where they were undergoing interrogation.
The matter, the source revealed, has already been reported to the commission’s headquarters in Abuja and the affected cards already kept aside.

Buhari's Court Cases Over Certificate Controversies risen to 10
The number of court cases against the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) over his certificate controversies has risen to 10.
According to Punch, eight of the 10 confirmed suits are before the Federal High Court in Abuja, one before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Abuja and one other before the Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State.

Northern Elders Endorse Jonathan’s Re-election Bid
The incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan and his running mate, Vice President Namadi Sambo received the endorsement of the Northern Elders Council (NEC) in the coming 2015 presidential poll.
The elders managed by their Chairman and elder statesman, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, stated this when they paid a politeness visit to Jonathan at the Aso Rock in Abuja.
Mr. Yakasai said the NEC picked for the Jonathan/ Sambo because they offer the best forecasts for continuous and sustained development, peace, unity and stability of the country.

Boko Haram attacks force Canadian withdrawal in Niger
Canadian special forces participating in military training in southeast Niger, near the border with Nigeria, were ordered to withdraw recently to avoid battling with Boko Haram Islamists, the military said Thursday.
The troops had been posted to the town of Diffa, where the government of Niger declared a state of emergency on February 11 following attacks in the region that borders Boko Haram's stronghold in northeast Nigeria.
