Vacancy - Structural Engineer
- Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Reports to:
- Engineering Manager (functional);
- Senior Project Engineer (project related).
Liaises with:
- Senior Project Engineer;
- Cad Engineers.
Directs:
Trainees and Draughtsmen involved in structural calculations and drafting;
Responsible for:
Timely completion of assigned engineering task;
Quality of prepared engineering deliverable, i.e. in accordance with contractual, legislative, regulatory, company requirements;
"Fitness for purpose" of engineering deliverables;
Adherence to Company Management System (CMS) applicable to structural Engineering;
Ensures Drawings are completed on time and checked for errors before transmitting to client;
Ensures the structural integrity of materials used in projects;
Engineering support during execution phase of the project (fabrication, offshore).
Authorised to:
Request for input for preparation of assigned engineering deliverable;
Review of applicable engineering deliverables.
Education and Training:
Bachelor Degree in Civil engineering or relevant engineering discipline;
Relevant offshore training.
Experience:

Education and Training:

Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in offshore engineering.
Knowledge & Skills:
Conversant with the use of AutoCAD software;
Ability to generate MTO from structural Drawings;
Good knowledge of design codes, standards and specifications;
Practical and theoretical knowledge of offshore transportation, installation and construction techniques;
Good knowledge of Design/ Calculation software and analysis tool;
Good knowledge of Company Management System (CMS) ensuring compliance to quality, health, safety, environment and security (QHSES) requirements;
Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken;
Ability to work in a team and to co-ordinate activities;
Ability to interpret engineering drawings;
Good theoretical knowledge of structural analysis;
Must be’ solutions-oriented’ and able to identify key issues and patterns in complex situations.
