The Independent National Electoral Commission on Monday announced June 21 and August 9 respectively for the 2014 governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states.
The INEC Secretary, Mrs. Augusta Ogakwu, in the breakdown of activities for the Ekiti poll said, “April 14 is the “last date for the conduct of party primaries, including resolution of disputes arising from the primaries.”
While campaigns for the elections in Ekiti State will commence on March 23 and ends on June 19, the collection of forms for the election by political parties is scheduled to begin on April 1.
The commission fixed April 21 as the last date for the submission of Forms CF001 and CF002 while April 28 was fixed for the publication of particulars of the candidates.
According to INEC, the last day for the withdrawal by candidate(s)/replacement of withdrawn candidates will be on May 7, while the last day for the submission of nomination forms by political parties has been slated for May 13.
The publication of official register of voters for the election and publication of the list of nominated candidates have both been scheduled for May 20.
Also, the publication of the notice of the election will be on June 4 while the submission of the names of party agents for the election to the Ekiti Electoral Officer of the local government or Area Council is fixed for June 5.
For Osun State, June 2 is the “last date for the conduct of party primaries including resolution of disputes arising from the primaries.”
Campaigns for the election are also scheduled to start on May 11, while collection of forms by political parties will be done on May 19 at the INEC headquarters.
According to INEC, June 9 will mark the last day for submission of Forms CF001 and CF002 at the INEC headquarters while publication of personal particulars will take place on June 16.
The commission also slated June 25 as the last day for the withdrawal of candidate(s) and or replacement of withdrawn candidates by political parties.
While July 1 serves as the last day for the submission of nomination forms by political parties, publication of official register of voters for the election and publication of list of nominated candidates will come up on July 8.
