Youth that benefited from the free  ICT, monthly programme

Five hundred and fifty-eight youths in Lagos State have benefited from the free monthly Information and Communications Technology, ICT, training programme since its inception in 2011.

The programme is sponsored by Senator Gbenga Ashafa, who represents Lagos East senatorial district.

The training Centre, which is situated in Magodo, Lagos, recently graduated the 13th and 14th batches of the exercise.

According to Ashafa, the initiative is in fulfillment of the vision and promise for the senatorial district during his campaign back in 2011.
He explained; “The spirit which has kept this programme alive stems from one of my cardinal points during the electioneering campaign – Youth Empowerment. By the grace of God, I have stood by this, empowering youths in the district.

“It is pertinent to point out here that there are 33 youths graduating today and they constitute a fair representation of the communities across Lagos East senatorial district.
“This number is in addition to the 525 youths from the past 12 batches.

“Consequently, by the end of today, we would have graduated a total of 558 youths, with 36 of them going home with brand new computer systems and printers.”
Commenting on the performance of the past batches, he said:  “It is instructive to note that feed-back from past graduands, indicate that our efforts have not been a waste.”
