GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has warned leaders of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state against extorting aspirants, saying: “I will not be involved if your houses are burnt down as a result of extortion.”
Meantime, leaders of the APC in Ward 7, Egor Local Government Area, have donated to a charity home, cash and gift items which were given to them by a House of Representatives aspirant and a member of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Paul Ohonbanmu, following the fracas that broke out between supporters of the lawmaker and the leaders of the ward when he visited the leaders to solicit for their support.

Oshiomhole, who met with APC aspirants, weekend, urged them to eschew violence and campaign of calumny ahead of the party’s primaries, warning them to avoid extorting aspirants so as to ensure that credible people emerged as the party’s flag bearers.
“I will not listen to any body when angry aspirants burn down your houses because you collected money from them. So please, our party leaders must avoid such temptation. Let us see ourselves as brothers and sisters. It must not be a do or die affair,” he said.
Informing the aspirants that his only sympathy goes to the current APC House of Assembly members due to the sacrifice they have made so far, he said: “I will not impose any body. The primaries will be free and fair. But for the House of Assembly members, those of them who have done well and are going for a second term, they have my sympathy because they did not collect N50million their other colleagues collected from PDP.”
