Buhari Passes Verdict On INEC

Gen. Mohammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the INEC for the smooth conduct of the presidential election so far.

Buhari made this known to journalists in his ward in Daura, Katsina state, shortly after completing his accreditation at ‎the Sarkin Yara polling unit.

According to Daily Trust, the APC presidential candidate noted that rigging would be impossible‎ during elections if people are allowed to vote.

“If people are allowed to vote rigging will actually be an impossible in this system,” he said.

Buhari appeared to have confidence in the conduct of the INEC so far, saying the commission has got it right this time.

He said: “I think (INEC) has done very well and I have said it to my colleagues elsewhere that from their presentation to the council of state which I happen to be one of the members, INEC this time has done extremely well.”

President Goodluck Jonathan has also been accredited after three voter card readers failed to read the president’s biometrics and accredit him for voting at the Otazi playground polling centre in his hometown, Otueke, Bayelsa state. The president’s accreditation took about 30 minutes due to the hitch.
