Election Result: Buhari, Jimi Benson In Early Lead In Ikorodu - PM News
General Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the party’s House of Representatives Candidate in Ikorodu, Babajimi Benson, have taken an early lead in some parts of Ikorodu Division, P.M. NEWS can authoritatively report.
The results of the voting in Oriwu Merchant Polling Unit 015 showed that Benson swept the polling unit with a total of 100 votes while his closest rival, Ola Animashaun of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, polled 80 votes.
In the Senatorial votes counted in the same area, APC polled a total of 101 votes as against the PDP’s 82 votes as counting for the Presidential candidates was still ongoing.
P.M.NEWS also gathered that in Ireshe area of Ikorodu Division, the legal practitioner alongside other APC candidates scored more votes than candidates of other parties.
While many other centres were still counting as at press time, several others were still conducting the voting exercise.
In Unit 13, Igbogbo, the voting exercise was still in progress where our correspondent scooped that a certain PDP chieftain in the area was giving out N1,000 to voters in a last minute bid to sway their allegiance.
Although our correspondent could not move close to take pictures, an APC stalwart in the area accosted them and they immediately pretended not to be involved in the illegal act.
