Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly converged in Sambisa Forest in Borno.
A civilian vigilante revealed this to AFP on Thursday, April 23.
As a result of the death of a soldier and three vigilantes during a recent operation, other soldiers were forced to retreat because of the extensive use of landmines in the area.
According to a local vigilante who was part of the operation, “Boko Haram are in large numbers in Sambisa.”
“All their fighters who were pushed out of Bama, Dikwa, Gwoza and Damboa (in Borno state) all moved to Boko Haram camps in Sambisa,” he added.
