President Muhammadu Buhari named Femi Adesina and Mallam Garba Shehu as his spokesmen. The appointments are official with immediate effect, from the evening of May 31, 2015, Sunday.
Femi Adesina is the special adviser on media and publicity. Currently he is also the president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), and serves as the managing director/editor-in-chief of The Sun newspaper.
Garba Shehu officially assumes the duties of the senior special assistant on media and publicity. He served as the director, media and publicity of the APC presidential campaign council. Garba Shehu is a former NGE president.
President Buhari has also approved the appointment of Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure as the state chief of protocol. Abdullahi Kazaure is a career foreign service official and currently serves in the Aso Rock as a special assistant on presidential matters.
